I got recommended Helen by a friend and I was really impressed with the help and support that she gave me when I really needed it. I wanted to write a memorial ceremony for my dad but had no idea how to even start such a task. From the initial phone call to the finished ceremony, Helen listened to everything I had to say with great understanding and helped me create a memorial that I was able to deliver in front of close friends and family. She not only helped me write the memorial but coached me in presenting it and gave me so many helpful tips. I really would not have been able to stand up and honour my dad without her help. Helen was more than just a celebrant. After booking another pagan celebrant we found online who had positive reviews and good marketing, and paying her fee to hold the date, we met this woman and did not get a warm, connecting feeling from her, it seemed performing weddings was merely an aspect of her making a living. We knew that Helen would be the perfect person to perform our ceremony who really cared and “got us.” She was interested in making every aspect of our ceremony everything we had dreamed of. She traveled to our house an hour and a half away to discuss the ceremony script and every aspect of the wedding. She was interested in communicating with and connecting to every reader, family member and participant before the wedding and afterwards at the reception. There were a lot of moving parts to our ceremony, with live music, incense, many readers and the large participation of our small children (4 and 7); Helen made sure to rehearse the difficult parts that needed working on enough times until everyone felt comfortable and confident. She had specific opinions about the details of the ceremony that I needed help with- how vows should be written, how long certain musical parts should be played, and with her guidance everything went off seamlessly. She created such a warm, welcoming environment during the ceremony with the perfect balance of joy and solemnity. The ceremony format was unusual and one that I know none of our guests will ever forget (as I was told by many).
A close friend referred to Helen as “a force of nature” and I know that no one present will forget the magical ritual that she made possible for our big day.
